Adding a Company
|
To add a company, first click on the "submit" button on the top of the page.
Next, click on the "Add a Company" link under New Profiles.
The top of the form has areas to fill in Company contact information. Most,
but not all of these are required fields. If you have a URL, please start this
field with "http://" or else leave it blank.
Below the Company Information fields is an area to fill in a Contact at the
company. This information will not be displayed on the web site, however, we
require this information so that we may verify any entries / changes to the
Company Profile.
Having entered your contact information, click Continue to move onto the next
page. Don't worry, if errors are found, a bright red message will be displayed
on the top of the page.
The next few pages will categorize the company by the type of services
offerred. This is accomplished by selecting appropriate categories from the
list(s) presented. Many of the categories have sub-categories which further
clarify the business.
Please select ALL the options that apply, but just as important, please select
ONLY the options that apply as well. The reasons for this are two:
First, selecting appropriate options makes the searches MUCH
more effective, and ...
Second, there is a limited (yet ample) number of options that each company can
select (hence, critical options may be lost in lieu of irrelevant ones).
To determine if you have selected too many options, check the option count on
the "Review" page.
Next, please enter a brief description of the company. This information will
be display on the "Company Biography" page ands will also be searched by a
search engine to match words that searchers may wish to search for. :)
Therefore, please try to incorporate as many descriptive words as
possible. Then select Review to review your information.
You've made it to the review page. Here you will be prompted for a
Username and Password. Since the password field is hidden, you will need to type
it TWICE to confirm that it is entered correctly. This information will allow you
to come back and edit as often as you like.
Next, review your information. If it is correct, press Process.
You should now be able to "Search" for your information on this site.

Adding a Diver
|
To add a diver, first click on the "submit" button on the top of the page.
Next, click on the "Add a Diver" link under New Profiles.
You will be prompted for information that you wish to make available when you
are found on this website. Therefore, don't enter anything here that you
do not wish to make publically available. The required fields are Name, City,
State, Country and E-mail. If you have a URL, please start this field with
"http://" or else leave it blank. Don't worry, if errors are found, a
bright red message will be displayed on the top of the page.
Having entered your contact information, click Continue to move onto the next
page. Next, select any cerficications and/or agencies you associate with.
Next, indicate whether you would be a potential Buddy for divers in your area.
(Note, the Buddy Search is a subset of the Divers' Directory, thus, selecting
NO here will not disqualify your entry from being in the Divers' Directory.)
Optionally, indicate what Special Diving Interests you have and any tidbits
you would like to add about yourself, your favorite dives, etc. Then select
"Review" to review your information.
You will be prompted for a Username and Password. Please enter this
information so that you may come back and edit as often as you like.
Next, review your information. If it is correct, press Process.
You should now be able to search for your information on this site.
For instructions on how to search, please refer to the top of this page.

Editing Company Information
|
To edit Company Information, first click on the "submit" button on the top of
the page. Next, click on the "Edit Company Info" link under Edit Profiles.
You will be prompted for your Username and Password. This was created when
the information was entered. (If you have forgotten your Username or Password,
please see the top of this page for instructions on how to retrieve it.)
Once you have successfully entered your Username / Password combination, you
will be presented with the current information (minus any keywords selected).
To update the information, change the appropriate information and click your way
through, selecting the keywords (sorry:( that you would like to be listed under.
(For more details on this, see "Adding a Company" - above.) Finally, review the
information and select Process.

Editing Diver Information
|
To edit Diver Information, first click on the "submit" button on the top of
the page. Next, click on the "Edit Diver Info" link under Edit Profiles.
You will be prompted for your Username and Password. This was created when
the information was entered. (If you have forgotten your Username or Password,
please see the top of this page for instructions on how to retrieve it.)
Once you have successfully entered your Username / Password combination, you
will be presented with the current information (minus any Special Interests
selected). To update the information, change the appropriate information and
click through to the Review screen. (For more details on this, see "Adding a
Diver" - above.) Finally, review the information and select Process.

Forgotten Username / Password
|
If you have forgotten your Username or Password, click on the "submit" button
on the top of the page. Next, click on the "Edit Diver Info" if this is a
Diver Account or "Edit Company Info" if this is a Company Account.
Next, click on the link next to "Forgot Your Password" and enter the e-mail
address that was entered with this account. Your Username / Password will
then be mailed to this account.
If you cannot remember the email address, send us an email and we
will email you the email address.

Searching This Site
|
There are several methods to search this site. They are listed here:
Navigator Search
The "click-search" Navigator may be the easiest if you are unsure how to search
for a particular company. First, select "Navigator" from the top of any
page. Then, select the appropriate category from the list
provided. Many of these will lead to lists of sub-categories (check the status
bar with your mouse over the link to see which ones have sub-categories and
which search the database). If you need to return to one of the pages past,
use the Navigation Links to the top and left of the image map.
Keyword Search
If you want to search by "Keywords", click on the "Directory" link
at the top of any page. Enter the Keywords, select the state and
country, the click the button on the upper left of the grouping.
If outside the United States, be sure and keep the state selection at
"- None -".
Company Type Search
If you want to search by "Company Type", click on the "Directory" link
at the top of any page. Select the category, state and country
to search, then click the button on the upper left of the grouping.
If outside the United States, be sure and keep the state selection at
"- None -".
Company Name Search
If you know the Name of the Company (or part of it), click on the "Directory"
link at the top of any page. Then type in this information into
the text area and click the button on the upper left of the grouping.
Buddy Search
If you want to search for a diver who is open to diving with a new Buddy,
click on "Dive Buddy" link on the top of any page. Enter the Firstname,
Lastname, Locatation, or pretty much any combination click the "Submit"
button at the bottom of the page.
